What are you doing?

For those of you not familiar with fashion blogs and "outfit posts" I wanted to explain.  The intention is not to show off, but to share with other bloggers who are interested in fashion, clothing and sewing.  It's kinda like a do-it-yourself, average people, community fashion magazine.  Here are some of my favorite fashion bloggers: (click on the pics to check out their beautiful blogs)
Enjoy!
Thank you for bloggin on in :)

Renaissance Dream

I was so inspired by the Art Museum that Dody took me to.  I always gravitate toward art that includes clothing.  I loved looking at the details in these works, depicting the clothing of the time.
I think that's why I dreamed about this dress design for my niece to wear.  My fashion illustration skills are sadly lacking, but you get the drift.  It would be mostly blue velvet, smocked at the top with an orange collar  and gold button details.

Blush Pink Polkadot Twist

Music to view by: A Fine Frenzy "Electric Twist"
Thoughts are whizzing through my head in a pink cloud right now, so I don't have many words today.  I hope your Fall brings as many exciting new ventures as mine!
(sweater: vintage, thrifted, brooch: Gramma's, tee: Sears, jeans: hand-me-down, shoes: ebay)
I will forever be inspired by the Lord's handiwork:

Another Brick in the Wall

"Hey Teacher!" I felt kinda "schoolgirl" in this outfit today, too.  It's been cooler here, Fall is moving in and the kids are already back to the books.  I don't ever remember ending summer vacation before September when I was a kid. I feel sorry for munchkins nowadays that have to get on the yellow bus while it's still August.  I think I used to get more excited about shopping for notebooks and pencils than any other part of the back to school process.
I just can't stop wearing my new favorite necklace that I bought at the public garden that David took me to.  There were the same beautiful yellow butterflies all over the grounds.  It was a special day in a lovely place that I'll never forget.  I gathered these seashells on the beach to make another necklace.  As we sat in the sand with the tide washing over us, I grabbed any pieces that had orangey stripes to match my sweetheart's gorgeous ginger hair.
Because it's now stuck in my head, I'll share it with you.  Don't miss the nice guitar solo near the end!

Manolo Blahnik Feather Heels : Manolo Blahnik | CHIQ

Manolo Blahnik Feather Heels : Manolo Blahnik | CHIQ
I think these gorgeous blush pink strappy heels with blush maribou feather details cascading down the front, will spark a trend for all kinds of feather applications on footwear next Spring.

If you agree, hit my pink "chiq" button after you follow the link to my "chiq" page!
Thank you. :)

Travel Attire

Hello all! So I'm back from my wonderful trip to the east to visit my man.  I'm totally bummed that I have to go back to being almost 3000 miles away from him again, so I'm posting pics to help cheer myself up.  Thankfully he's a wonderful photographer so I have outfit photos to post here.  Hopefully this jet lag will end soon and I'll be back in the swing of things. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.........

Giveaway WINNER!!!

Ok, so I had my mom randomly pick a name out of a jar and it was a male personage.  I emailed him to see if he would like to give the prize to his wife.  And I didn't get a response, so since it was a family member of mine, I decided to pick another person. (What's he gonna do?, he's stuck with me, ha!) So the real winner of the Apron Giveaway is..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................FLOCHFAM!!! Otherwise known as Becky, the Beckster, BECK-O-RAMA!  Congratulations.  I hope you'll send me a pic of you sporting it so I can post it here, p-p-p-lease? :)
In other news I thought I'd let you know about some blogs that I enjoy.
For  fun fashion check out Delightfully Tacky.  She has a really unique style and posts beautiful photos of the sites near her home in Alaska.  Soon she'll be living on the road in her Winnebago and sharing her adventures online.
For beautiful clothing pics, try the Cherry Blossom Girl. It's in French but there's an english translation. I also like Kramey Martin's cheery posts. (I've tried to recommend inoffensive sites but I can't guarantee anything, follow at your own caution.)
And to keep track of blogs that you follow, I highly recommend Bloglovin. It neatly keeps you updated on all your favorite blogs on one page! I'm definitely lovin' it.
Well, I hope to have the wherewithal to make posts while I'm on my trip but we'll see how it goes.  I leave after one more day; can't hardly wait!  Here are some photos of where I'm going.
